How to Watch FIFA World Cup 2026 in Malaysia (Free and Paid)

Where to stream every FIFA World Cup 2026 match from Malaysia, free on RTM or paid on Unifi TV, with prices verified as of 26 June 2026.

Three ways to follow the tournament

Free on RTM

All 104 matches are free via RTM as a mix of live, delayed and video-on-demand coverage. The RTMKlik app streams all 104 with no registration and no MyDigital ID needed.

Paid on Unifi TV

Unifi TV is selling FIFA World Cup 2026 passes that are open to non-subscribers. A one-time Season Pass is RM60, or RM50 for existing Unifi TV customers, as of 26 June 2026.

Not on Astro

Astro has confirmed it is not broadcasting the 2026 World Cup, the first time in over 20 years. It is not on NJOI or Sooka either, so use RTM or Unifi TV.

Only two official broadcasters in Malaysia

The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs from 11 June to 19 July 2026, and Malaysia did not qualify, but the whole tournament is easy to follow from home. The TV and streaming rights here are held non-exclusively by just two official carriers: RTM for free and Unifi TV for paid. No other legal Malaysian broadcaster is showing the tournament.

You may see MyTV mentioned in passing. That is only the over-the-air digital terrestrial platform used to receive RTM channels, not a separate rights-holder. The group stage is in its final matchdays as of 26 June 2026, with the new Round of 32 starting on 28 June.

Free option: RTM and RTMKlik

All 104 matches are available free through RTM. The catch is that they come as a mix of live broadcasts, delayed telecasts and video-on-demand, so not every match is guaranteed live on a linear RTM TV channel. Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirmed the free-to-air plan on 13 May 2026.

RTM is carrying the tournament across its free-to-air channels:

  • TV1
  • TV2
  • TV Okey
  • RTM Sports
  • Berita RTM

Your surest route to all 104 is the free RTMKlik app. It runs on smartphones and Android TV, needs no registration, works on any internet provider, and does not require a MyDigital ID. The MyGOV app also carries a free stream of TV1, TV2 and TV Okey content, but that one does require a MyDigital ID account.

Paid option: Unifi TV World Cup passes

If you want a dedicated paid option, Unifi TV is selling FIFA World Cup 2026 passes, and they are open to non-subscribers too. As of 26 June 2026, the Season Pass is a one-time RM60 for customers who are not on Unifi TV, or a one-time RM50 for existing Unifi TV customers. There is also a Daily Pass at RM20, available from 12 June, with the purchase window opening at 11:00 PM the day before a selected match and closing at 11:59 PM on match day.

The Season Pass bundle also adds more than 70 premium channels, including HBO, Cinemax, AXN, beIN Sports, SPOTV and tvN Movies, from 11 June to 10 July, with World Cup content access until 31 July. You can buy through the Unifi TV website, the MyUnifi app, the Unifi TV 2.0 app or Unifi Selfcare.

Prices and pass terms can change at any time, so verify the current figures on the official Unifi TV page before you buy. The numbers here are accurate as of 26 June 2026.

Why Astro is not an option this time

One thing that surprised many fans is that Astro has officially confirmed it will not broadcast the 2026 World Cup. This is the first time it has skipped the tournament in more than 20 years. It is also not available on NJOI, Astro's free-to-air service, or on Sooka, its streaming app. If you are an Astro household, RTM or Unifi TV is the way to watch.

Kick-off times for Malaysian viewers

Timing is the other thing to plan around. Malaysia runs on MYT, which is UTC+8, while the 16 host cities sit across North American time zones. Most matches land roughly 3:00 AM to 12:00 noon MYT, so a lot of the action is early-morning viewing that overlaps Subuh. Exact times depend on each fixture's host city, so check our FIFA World Cup 2026 schedule in Malaysia time before you set an alarm. You can also confirm the master fixture list on FIFA.com.
